About the Business
I trained as a Mature Student for 3 years at the College of Traditional Acupuncture and was awarded a Licentiate and First Class BA (Hons) Degree in Traditional Acupuncture from CTA in association with Oxford Brookes University.
I am a member of the British Acupuncture Council (BAcC) which maintains standards of education, ethics and practice and which maintains strict Codes of Safety and Professional Conduct. Continuing Professional Development is also an ongoing annual requirement which I am constantly updating, having recently attended certificated workshops in treating pain and in auricular acupuncture.
I am fully insured to practise and also hold a First Aid certificate which is updated regularly. I practise in Solihull and Warwick within easy access of surrounding areas such as Birmingham, Coventry and Redditch.

Acupuncture
Acupuncture for Back Pain and other musculo-skeletal problems.
Acupuncture can help with lower back pain, pregnancy related back pain, work related back pain, sciatica, hip pain, and many other musculo-skeletal problems. It can help to reduce inflammation, improve muscle stiffness and joint mobility and reduce the need for medication, providing a drug-free alternative treatment. Acupuncture can also be safely used alongside your current medications. Back pain is classified in two main ways and can be chronic (lasting more than 6 weeks) or acute (lasting less than 6 weeks):
- Specific back pain:
Pain that is associated with an underlying health condition or damage to the spine such as sciatica – a condition caused by a nerve in the back (the sciatic nerve) being irritated or compressed; or slipped disc – where one of the discs of the spine splits and the gel inside leaks out; or ankylosing spondylitis – a condition where the joints at the base of the spine become inflamed.
- Non-specific back pain:
Where the pain is not caused by serious damage or disease, but by sprains, muscle strains, minor injuries or a pinched or irritated nerve.
I have successfully treated both specific and non-specific back pain by treating the root cause of patients’ problems through 5 Element Acupuncture with adjunctive treatments such as Moxibustion (the smouldering of a nourishing herb on Acupuncture points), Gua Sha (a form of massage) and Auricular Acupuncture (ear acupuncture). Each of my patients is treated according to their specific needs and imbalances, whether physical, mental or emotional, which often brings about other health benefits such as improved sleep, better mood and a greater feeling of overall wellbeing.
