About the Business
After graduating Emma lived and worked in Indonesia for several years studying Javanese martial arts which sparked off her interest in energetic medicine. After returning to the UK she qualified as a reflexologist, and then went on to complete her licentiate in acupuncture at The College of Integrated Chinese Medicine in Reading, one of the leading colleges in Europe and a British Acupuncture Council accredited college.
The course includes the requisite western medical sciences and combines two types of traditional acupuncture, the 5 element constitutional model and Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM). Her clinical supervision was under Angela Hicks, a leading author of many chinese medicine text books.
Emma continues to develop and widen her knowledge of chinese medicine by regularly attending specialist post-graduate courses. She has developed strong links with Gps and other complementary healthcare providers in Cardiff over the years to help each patient reach optimal health and enjoys having students observe with her.
Emma has a particular interest in gastro-intestinal disorders having worked closely with a gastro-enterologist at the university hospital in Birmingham. She has also undertaken further training with Daverick Leggett on dietary therapy and the energetics of food in chinese medicine.
